Downtown Dubai entdecken

Downtown Dubai, also called The Dubai Downtown, is a large mixed-use complex in Dubai. Emaar Properties developed it. Before 2000 the area was called Umm Al Tarif.

It sits along Sheikh Zayed Road, across from the Al Wasl locality to the northwest. Business Bay borders it to the south. Financial Centre Road runs along the northeast side and separates it from Zabeel and Trade Centre 2.

The Old Town has low-rise Arabic-style buildings, while high-rise contemporary towers make up most of the rest. Homes are mainly apartments and penthouses in towers, including serviced and branded residences. Some villas are part of The Residences. Part of the area is still under construction.

Sources give its size as 2 sq km (about 490 to 500 acres). No official Emaar figure was found.
