Zayed City, formerly the Capital District, is a planned district on the mainland between Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Zayed International Airport. It was set out under Abu Dhabi's Plan 2030 as a new urban centre, with a Federal Precinct for national government offices, and covers roughly 45 to 49 sq km. Other projects in the district include a new Al Jazira Club stadium, whose design was unveiled in 2025 with an initial capacity of 24,000 seats. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
